Hearing Aids

A hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind our ear. It makes sounds louder so that a person with a hearing loss can listen, communicate and participate more fully in daily activities. A hearing aid has three basic parts: a microphone, amplifier and a speaker.

Ear Plugs/muffs (Noise protection)

Your hearing must be protected when it will be exposed to loud noise. Without the protection, there is a possiblity of a permanent loss occuring. Any noise that is above 85 decibels runs this risk. The following are types of protection that we provide to minimize the occurence of hearing damage;

1. Ear plugs: an ear plug is a device that is meant to be inserted into the ear canal to protect the user's ears from loud noises or intrusion of water, dust and other foreign objects. Ear plugs are of two types;
   • Reusable; only needs to be replaced every 3-6 months while the attached cord helps to prevent loss. It is also available in different colours.
   • Disposable; Only used once in a day. They are great for jobs that occassionally require hearing protection.

2. Ear Muffs: A pair of soft fabric covering, connected by a band across the top of the head, that are worn over the ears to prevent a user's ears from noise.
